union market.

crafty bastards was the best craft fair ive ever been to. by far. one vendor was better than the next and i definitely spent too much money! good thing christmas is coming up and i love my sisters because they may or may not be getting some cool things from this outing!

burger tap & shake.

burgers are my weakness. i am always (always, always) up for a good burger. eventually, i hope to try every well known burger spot in all of my respective cities. after our last soccer game of the season, my friend jenn and i decided to treat ourselves to a lite (hah) dinner at burger, tap, & shake in foggy bottom. we each got the double espresso milkshake (yumm), then split the southern comfort and big daddy burger with onion rings (but of course)! perhaps it was because we were so hungry or just the fact that the burgers were delish... but they lived up to everything i had heard about them! can't wait to go back!

the board room.

a few days ago some friends and i went to a new bar in dupont called the board room. the idea is pretty neat... you rent board games for a few dollars and set up shop with your friends. since they arent currently serving food (although they do have a full bar) you are allowed to bring in food from outside which is a nice change from having to order the usual bar food. jenga was our game of choice and it was pretty fun watching a bunch of twenty-somes get so into a board game! i would definitely keep this bar on my list if i ever want a low key night.

we the pizza.

the search for a 'real' pizza pie in dc is over! i am a bit ashamed it took me until this week to try we the pizza... but it was well worth the wait. as soon as i walked in i knew i had found it... pizza you can buy by the slice... with all the great flavors they have in nyc and philly (hello buffalo chicken pizza). i tried 4 different kinds of pizza (i know... i know)  and one was better than the next. i am already planning my next venture to capital hill to relive this glorious meal!

'from the greek in us' & 'buffalo mozz & roasted tomato'

'spinach & artichoke' & 'buffalo chicken'

bobby mckeys.

before last week i can honestly say i didn't know that dueling piano bars existed. thanks to my friends 25th b-day andrew and i got to check this one out here in dc (well the national harbor to be exact). as soon as we walked through the doors i knew my piano loving boyfriend would be in heaven... and he certainly was. we had such a great night and best of all we got to celebrate emily's special day!
happy birthday emily!

potomac boat cruise.

october is by far my favorite month...i love everything from the weather to the color of the leaves to all the festive activities. my roommate kristen and i were invited to partake in an oktoberfest cruise around the potomac and it was the perfect way to spend our saturday afternoon. the weather was ideal and we enjoyed watching the sunset while drinking fall brews! after the cruise we went over to the brixton for a drink and ended the night at ben's chili bowl.

brunch at el centro.

a few months back my co-worker and i went to el centro for dinner and it was amazing. the vibe in the restaurant was awesome and the food was some of the best i've had here in dc. when my friends invited me there for brunch a few weekends ago i was really excited to go back. despite the good deal... $35 all you can eat // all you can drink... the meal was a bit disappointing. perhaps mexican brunch just doesn't mesh...but i think it's safe to say the next time i return to el centro it will not be for brunch. once we had our fill of tacos and mimosas we headed to the rooftop bar at masa14 to enjoy the last of the fall weather!
