soccer saturdays.

soccer is one of my favorite sports to watch in the fall. i am lucky enough to have multiple cousins who are great players and just so happen to have games on saturday and sunday that a and i can go to! the pictures below are from my cousins gianna's game last weekend. the weather was awesome and we enjoyed spending time with the family!

the last of the summer birthdays.

(better late than never on this post - sorry mom!) we celebrated my mothers birthday during one of the last weekends at the shore. we have a lovely weekend complete with shopping here, eating here, and of course a little beach time.

and of course you can't forget about the ice cream (or these little crab friends!).

h street festival.

this past weekend erinn and i checked out the h street festival. apparently these street fairs are the must-do event of the fall and they are popping up all over town. since the weather was perfect on saturday we found ourselves spending most of the day at the festival. we met up with chelsea and brian and had some yummy homemade soul food while browsing local vendors, listening to live music, and enjoying the sunshine! what a glorious saturday!

the perfect t-shirt can be a hard thing to find... especially one at a reasonable price. i stumbled upon this site, everlane, the other day and after reading a bit about their shirts i decided to order one. i went with a classic women's v white. the shirt came in the mail the other day and i have been obsessed with it since! it is sooo soft and sooo comfortable...and for only $15 it is definitely worth ordering!

blue duck tavern.

since so many people have been asking about our dinner at blue duck tavern i figured it deserved its own here it is!

being from bucks county, pa i felt right at home as soon as we stepped out of our cab and had the huge blue farm doors opened to welcome us. from the rocking chairs in the foyer to the big open kitchen i knew this would be a special night! while we waited for our friends to join us for dinner, we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar.

champagne mojito and jack/coke
once our friends got to the restaurant we were seated at our table and given a complementary champagne toast... not bad! after lots (and lots) of catching up we were finally ready to order. we had an assortment of entrees and sides (see below) and one was better than the next.

hand cut french fries
roasted suckling pork
wood oven roasted scallops
by the time dinner was over we were all quite full... but since we were celebrating a birthday we just had to get some dessert ;) we ended up selecting these sweet treats....yummm

chocolate cake, sour cherries

milk chocolate s'mores

needless to say we can't wait to go back!

weekend getaway // buffalo

i went up to buffalo, new york this past weekend with a friend. we had an amazing visit and as always, the time flew by. every time we travel to buffalo we make time for our favorite only-in-buffalo foods (thank you jim's steakout, tim hortons, pizza plant, etc, etc, etc!)... and this trip was no exception!

jim's steak out
chicken finger sub
chicken parm stuffed pizza
iced capp
saturday night we went to an event called city of night at silo city with some friends.  the event was held in the old industrial grain elevators and featured local artists, live music, and local breweries. it was a pretty neat experience and we found ourselves saying "are we really allowed to be in here?!' the pictures below are of the space, as well as some of the work of the local artists. i took so many pictures it was hard to choose which ones to post here so maybe i'll just have to dedicate another post to the event... it was that cool.

jacks boathouse.

three day weekends are really just the best, aren't they? we took advantage of the long weekend and packed in as much as we could. a's cousin was in town so we decide to take the opportunity to check something off our bucket list (thanks for the idea erinn!)... canoeing/kayaking at  jacks boathouse. despite the fact that some of us could use a little help in the upper body strength department we had such an awesome time!
